Magnificent Yoga

In 2006, the summer before I went to study and live in New York City, I was first exposed to yoga asanas in a classroom setting - Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga to be exact. I had only rolled my mat out in front of a TV prior to this, but as a novice practitioner (or expert for that matter) the instruction of a physical, palpable teacher is invaluable. So, three years have came and went. In that time I became certified to teach Baptist Power Yoga... & also launched a makeup career. For a while, my yoga mat was collecting dust, but any time my stress levels were on high I ran to class, unrolled my mat and found my center there. The gift of yoga has been vast in my life.

Having explored other forms of yoga including Bikram, Iyengar and an Ashtanga influenced practice, I'm diving into a full throttle Ashtanga workshop this weekend. Doing a little research on the primary series lead me to this video on YouTube. These yogis float through the series like angels; they're phenomenons. I hope to attain these beautiful postures in my lifetime. Please take a minute to enjoy the jaw-dropping fluidity of this Ashtanga Yoga Demo.

Trailer for 'It Came From Yesterday'

I'm excited to share the teaser of this terrific indie film I keyed last December, under Department Head Midian Crosby. Producers Jeff Waltrowski and Steve Tolin are the (monstrous) brains behind the production. The entire film was captured on green screen. The cast is chalk-full of popular culture aficionados, and the trailer is already causing quite a stir amongst industry professionals. Dare I say, we may have the makings of a cult classic in our midst... Take a Peak.

2009 NBA Finals with ABC & ESPN • Los Angeles Lakers vs. Orlando Magic

In the beginning of June I traveled to LA to work with ESPN and ABC to cover the NBA Finals at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. As always, I enjoy joining forces with ESPN; they consistently run a fluid production and the team that I work with are first-rate - the tops in my book. Without fail, just being in a highly energized setting (like championship title games) gives me a positive charge. Being in the underbelly of these venues and a part of these impressive productions makes me feel alive... like a kid again. Here are some behind the scene candid photos that I took while at the Los Angeles Lakers Staple Center.

Pop Heart

This was a fun shoot with LA based photographer, Dan Monick. We teamed up to capture the Popular Art profile of Pittsburgh, PA for Air Canand's enRoute Magazine's June 2009 Edition. The article 'Pop Goes the Eagle' turned out great, along with the picture of our lovely model who successfully posed with poise while devouring a Primanti Bros. sandwich. Keeping those perfect red lips in check kept me on my toes. ;)

PS. I got the cover too, but that image isn't in my hands just yet :)
