BEAUTIFUL SPOT

We all have our definition of luck. Some think it's the draw, other's believe that nothing is coincidental and there is no such thing as luck... I believe it's when an opportunity arises and one is prepared to take up the circumstances, then and there. (I first heard it described that way on the Oprah Show years ago)

Eve Pearl presented a chance for an artist to assist her at The Makeup Show, LA presented by The Powder Group. Being the first candidate to follow up with Eve by telephone, she gave me this golden opportunity. I was, and still am, tickled pink ...or in this case, 'Salmon'.

Eve Pearl is a 5 Time Emmy Award-Winning Celebrity Makeup Artist. She currently works as Meredith Vieira's personal artist and for the Today Show. Prior to this she worked on The View for 10 years, she authored 'Plastic Surgery Without the Surgery, the Miracle of Makeup Techniques' (Warner Books), and created from the bottom up, a Luxury Brand of CosmeNutrients™ Eve Pearl Cosmetics.

Eve Pearl is more than an accomplished artist and entrepreneur, if you have to opportunity to spend one minute with her you will see that she is a caring, generous and genuine. Eve is an amazing woman.

With a little preparation and lots of enthusiasm, I flew into LAX, rented some wheels and took off down a 6 lane highway to proudly represent Eve Pearl and Eve Pearl Cosmetics in downtown LA.

I first saw Lady GaGa perform her hit song 'Just Dance' on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno a month ago or so. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Her outfit was a mess, she looked crazy, but she owned it; I love that type of confidence. Her voice was powerful and she herself was captivating - I sensed then that Lady GaGa was one to watch and that she was going to shake the music and fashion industry up.

It wasn't until the release of GaGa's new song 'Poker Face', which I love, that inspired me to get on MTV's website and watch her videos.  So, I watched 'Poker Face' and I knew right off the bat that this 20 something woman has the total upper hand in her image AND career. I don't think anyone is going to persuade this dame away from her instincts. Now, a friend of mine has the impression that she is just another empty vessel, with no creativity or writing prowess, that a large record label has created an image for and is pouring millions into to get tens of millions out of. He couldn't have been more off the mark. I thought 'No way, this gal's the real deal!" and, ahem, I was right...

Lady GaGa (Birth name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - Born in 1986 NY,NY) created a buzz for herself in the New York City underground. She's influenced by rockstar Icons Bowie and Queen and, at only 20 years of age, the singer/songwriter/pianist began working as a songwriter for Interscope Records, penning songs for the Pussycat Dolls, Briteny Spears, Pink and other pop acts. Interscope made her a major label in 2008. Brilliant!

I'm inspired by her makeup, hair (usually wigs) and wardrobe choices. In the video 'Just Dance' she sports a Ziggie Stardust influenced thunder bolt on her cheek. Her 'Poker Face' video is totally Jetson-esque, donning the same bolt with a little more production value added; just sexy. Lady GaGa has got so many layers, she's just a hell-of-a-lotta fun!  Whether you like her style or not, it's out there, she's influential and her confidence and style are explosive. Ms. GaGa's Bad Ass.

In Spring 2008 I had the pleasure of traveling to Florida and the Mid-West for Iams. Under the direction of Link Technologies' founder and maestro Brandon Jameson, we captured very intimate stories of families, veterinarians, shelters and their devoted relationships with their four legged friends.

Following is one of the spots that centers around Dayton Ohio, Montgomery County's Animal Resource Center. This rescue center is full to the brim with love, and animals hoping to be adopted into a loving home. I had such an amazing time filming these wonderful stories with an incredible crew.
